Is Metal Slowly Dying or Is it rising

I Have only been on the Metal scene for about 4-5 years now to me it seems to be slowing down. It's so hard to find a good metal band, especially one from the US. I find myself looking away from the american metal scene and heading over to places like sweden and germany for my metal bands. Hell even Britain has a few better Metal bands than the US. What does everyone else think?

Metal has been around since the early 80s, from GLAM Metal to Thrash Metal. To Death metal, to Black metal, then to Inudstral metal.

Metal has only actually begun. It's still rising, it's just that the original metal (The good metal) isn't influencing the new metal heads. They are scared of solos, complcated guitar rifts, and death. Metal started out as talking about the person you loved, then went to hating the government, then talking about life or death, then vikings, then god knows what.

I'm in a different kinda of genre of metal, well metalcore really. But our scene is definitely rising, not only locally, but I think a lot more bands are getting into punk/hardcore/metalcore. The only reason I like it, is because it combines screaming and then melodic punk sounding clean vocals.

Either way I know one thing.
Some form of Metal will always be there

I don't discriminate, if it sounds good, then it is good. I am not afraid of the dissappearance of metal, just annoyed with the difficulty of finding good metal bands.

I'm with that all the way. If it sounds good ima listen to it. Haha yeah some metal bands just dont take cake with me.

I have found few Metalcore/Deathcore bands i actually like lol.

I stay with Death/Black/Thrash The original brutal metals.

I'll admit, when you showed me these metals I started moving away from hardcore and other kinds of metal.

Personally I prefer the post-punk and hardcore bands to true metal. The constant growls and pig squeals hurt my ears after awhile.

On a serious note; I think local small-time metal bands are on the rise, or at least they are here in the midwest. Maybe not as whole but I think that the bands of the future metal scene will come from out of the midwest around Indiana n shit.

oh yeah definately local metal bands are on the rise

so no metal is not dying it just isnt as good as it once was okay dont get me wrong i like alot of metal bands some are metal some are not actually metal but metal has many different categories in itself which some says is bullshit i like alot of different types of metal but i think it will not die

course it wont die!
there are way to many metal heads out there.
