| A study done at a University of Psychology shows that of all the kinds of music, Country causes almost 80% of suicidal thoughts. Whether it's the constant depressing lyrics, the low voices, or just the guitar sounds that causes it is unknown. But it is a proven fact indeed that country causes more cases of suicide than any other music style. | |

| Its obviously the lyrics and how they are song. Whilst the guitar may have a tiny bit to do with it. Usually using minor chords. | |

| I'm not saying it's true for everyone. I'm justing saying the study showed that of the people tested 80% were effected negatively. | |

| Guitars cannot cause suicidal thoughts. It is the lyrics, which most country songs are sad, with the death of a loved one, or one going to war, or etc. "Don't Take The Girl" or "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" and songs like that will strike a chord in your heart and make you see the soft side of the horror show that humanity really is. | |

| That's all true. That's probably why country music is so popular with people. | |

| You are wrong sir. Saying guitar cannot cause depression is like saying classical music cannot cause depression. Have you never sat and listened to a good instrumental. Depending on the tempo and chords played it can be a very downing song or and uppity song. Take a HIM song for instance, one of there softer songs, if you took out the vocals and listened you could tell the song was generally not happy. Well take a song like Home by 3DG, listen to the instrumental and you can tell it is an angry song. I am dissapoint with that post. | |

| Um, I'm pretty sure that noises can't cause depression. That's an excuse. You're saying that if I beat on a wall fast, you'll be angry or happy, but if I do it slow, it will make you sad and depressed? No, that's not right. Guitars cannot cause that kind of thing upon people. Sure, they can have a soft tune that sets a depressing atmosphere, but they themselves can't cause depression. | |

| No not the guitar itself. It's just a guitar. But the lyrics and singing along with how the guitar is played can make a person depressed. | |
